Thankful to God for the street children!
We send you our heartfelt greetings to you all and we would like to wish you a blessed new week in the Mighty and strength of the Lord God, We bless His name and all He is doing in our lives and the lives of the street boys we minister too every day.
With countless support from our dear friends and supporters ,prayer friends, our quality and dedications to serve these boys has never been comprised and the results for our commitment has been able to make this ministry an ever growing organization working with boys on streets to get off Kampala streets, by the use of simple activities such playing football games, showering and washing on the program, conducting praise and worship, sharing of our personal testimonies, Bible study, having lunch with the boys and listening to their needs, has strengthened our relationship with the boys and has effectively grown into major changes in their lives.
We are very grateful to God for transforming the boys we have in the shelter and those we have resettled back to their families. It is noted that many re-settlements usually fail and this makes many of the boys return to the streets of Kampala.
We proud to share with you about our current boys in the house who are have transformed and are all in school and we hope and pray that God continues to change them.
Special thanks to all of you who pray for us.
God bless you all.

OUR RECONCILIATION PROGRAM.
We are grateful that our reconciliation program is underway and it has kicked off on good grounds. So far those that have been driven back to their guardians; we have kalanda Steven who received a warm welcome from his Aunt. We first resettled Kalanda Steven in 2014 after finding his relatives in Entebbe, with various discussions with family; we managed to resettle Steven who among all the children we have resettled has stayed with his family for a full year.
However Steven again ran away from home again this past September and this required us as a team to re-do our meeting up, calling of his family, searching for him on streets and offering more counseling to Kalanda Steven. We are very glad and happy that we worked together with kalanda Steven’s doctors and counselor from one of the most recognized and respected HIV/AIDS hospital in Entebbe and they suggested ideas which are all for the best of Steven’s health and we are very happy that we are all going to assist Steven in the best we all can.
On the other hand we kindly request to remember Steven in your prayers as he starts on the new line of medication. We feel the need to celebrate this achievement because all the mixed feelings between the boy and his family (Relatives) were all discussed at the transitional house, It was all joy and happiness to receive them as members of the family and we are all the family is willing to work with us including his doctors and we continue to pray for Kalanda Steven.
.
As MAA (Mercy Alive Africa) continues to meet immediate needs of the vulnerable children, we are also doing our best to change the perceptions of the community and more especially to those where these children come from. Congratulations to our boys Kalanda Steven who accepted to reconcile with their family. We are very proud of the decision you made, thus this is a good example to the rest of the other boys.

THANKING GOD FOR HIS LOVE AND TRANSFORMATION IN THE LIVES
                                       OF THE STREET CHILDREN.

Disapproving the community that not all street children are wrong people in our communities, but once given attention and quality amount of time and patience they are as good as other people.
So many people in our society have come up in the open to regard most street boys as the bad boys of the community because of problems associated with them or because of the history behind their life styles.
For example there are people who are often heard saying that they will never want to know what goes on in the lives of these boys, in some other cases the situation is made to look ugly by how often they are being rounded up by law enforcers of the city or police and taken into solitary confinement.
Mercy Alive Africa has however; grown and worked with these children for now more than six years and our story about them is way different. Our expression while working in them and the approach which is purely preaching to them about the power of God to change human beings has helped them to discover themselves.
By the time we entered into their areas( That is where they sleep and spend most of their time) there were a lot of discontentment and high cases of indiscipline of all manner, and we began to use the knowledge of the bible as a major element that was going to uproot some of these cases. This is because many people acquired knowledge of how to handle and deal with street children were not yielding desired change we needed to see in these boys until we introduced them weekly preaching and other activities like feeding them lunch and having sports and games whenever we do an outreach . All these programs are to help the boys to unite, communicate and allow us to reach out to them the best we can.
Our simplicity of being approachable has made most of them to share their personal struggles of life where our team have been willing to listen to their unending story tells and have offered word of wisdom and conducted counseling, today we are glad to say that the Lord has been good for the so many transformations taking place in these boys, On various programs,we have shared testimonies many street children who are in school and some resettled back with their families, other boys are now working, previously you may have observed that one of the boy managed to get a sponsor and we are happy that He is in school.
It is because of such noticeable changes in these boys, Mercy Alive Africa stands to thank the God for having used it to disapprove the beliefs of so many people about the image of the street boys in their own society.
We take special moments to thank our strong beloved Friends, who have walked a journey while encouraging us, supporting us in everything which is a big percentage in helping us change the communities and see the transformation of various children.
May the God bless the team and everyone who prays for the street children.
Thanks from management

OUTREACH.
Josselyn is 13 years old we met her during an outreach in kivulu. Joselyn asked the team to go meet her mother and hear her story.
Joselyn lives with her mother and her three siblings in the slums of kivulu. Josselyn's Mother started living in the slums a few years back and had all her children in the slums of kivulu.
Her mother feeds her children through selling of Irish potatoes, Most times it is hard for her because, they usually have to feed on what is usually brought for business and hence making it hard to raise money to put her children in school. This business gives her the capability to feed her children, however it can not allow her to pay her children in school.
The mother to Joselyn requested the Team to help put Joselyn in school again. We are glad that Josselyn is in school and we pray all her dreams come true.
Through our outreaches, we are glad that we are able to meet many children like Joselyn and we hope to share and pray with as many children God brings in our lives.
Thank you for your prayers.

Many street children use or are addicted to using the avaition fuel. The avaition fuel can cause mental instability, weakening of the immunity system, affects their reasoning ability, lose of appetite and weak.
Many of the street children snifing the avaition fuel using bottles, small cloth among others.
The use of the avaition fuel hinders a number of programs that we do, such as resettlement since many of the children became addicted and it is hard for them to stop.
say a prayer for the street children who are battling with the addiction.
God bless you.

OUTREACH IN KATWE SLUM.
we usually meet many street children on our way from home or town and different places.
On monday we met Muzafaru( a boy who has stayed on the streets for quite a few years).
In 2014 we had taken Muzafaru in the transitional house however he was not ready and he run away and we saw him Muzafaru shared with his us what is happening in his life now.
He collects empty water bottles and scrap to earn some money for food, he is uses drugs some times in the nights.
The slum of katwe( Basically near the Railway line is filled with drugs addicts and its a hiding place for some many street children which means that many of these children will learn and use drugs while in the katwe slums because they see other boys and men using them.
It is very sad that the people( elder people sell these drugs to the children and there is no way we can try stop due to the influence they have in society) .
we continue to kindly request you pray for the street children and the various orphans.
we would like to have Muzafaru back to the shelter after a few months of constant talking to him and encouraging him.
Thank you so much for your prayers

TEAM WORK AT HOUSE....
Its great joy when the boys do house work together and learn from each other.
This makes the program of resettlement since the boys learn how to do house work and assocaite with others which many parents want their children to have.
Thank youfor your prayers.

    The story of Samuel.

Samuel is a humble boy, who socializes with the other boys at the house. Samuel is 12 years old and currently he is living in the Mercy Alive Shelter.
Samuel was raised by his Grandmother in Kira after his Mother died. Samuel ran away from home with a hope of finding a job of selling eggs in Kampala because his grandmother could not provide for him and his brother Enock. Samuel was on the streets for a couple of months and we got to find Samuel during the police raids. The police usually does raids and arrests many street children. We managed to visit Samuel’s grandmother after we got Samuel from the police station.
Samuel’s grandmother tries to support his grandkids by selling tomatoes and onions which can only provide lunch or dinner depending on which meal they chose to eat. They can hardly sustain a single meal in a day let alone afford other basic needs. Because of that, we decided to take Samuel to the Mercy Alive shelter, that way his Grandmother stays with his Enock.
Samuel had stopped to study since his grandmother could not afford the school fees and we are happy that next week, Samuel will be doing a school interview and he will start school in a month. Currently he is living under Mercy Alive shelter.
His favourite subject is social studies and he wants to become a mechanic. Samuel believes. that fixing is a good way to bring things back to life. He loves playing football,

THANKFUL TO GOD AND PROUD OF BENJAMIN.

Benjamin just like other boys, we met him during our Night outreaches and he had left home because of mistreatment.
After a few weeks of staying with him at the house and counselling him.
we resettled him back with his Father(Family). The Police together with our team helped in talking to Benjamin's Father who accepted to take Benjamin back to school.
We are very proud to say that Benjamin did well his final National examinations and he... managed to get a first grade.
we believe they are many boys who can do it as Benjamin as done and hope we can do our best to reach out to more street children.
We thank you all so much for your prayers.

Every street child we meet has a story to tell. Many of the street children sleep during the time of outreaches because at Night they do not get to sleep since they have to run away all time from the people who tend to hurt them at Night.
They sleep during programs because they feel safe because volunteers are always there to offer them protection and listen to them.

Many of them do not get meals daily and only have a plate of food during programs.
we are doing the best we can to the feed the children and we hope we can do.

Many of the boys collect empty bottles and scrap. This is commonly the simple work they do to have a meal while on the streets.

NIGHT OUTREACH

NIGHT OUTREACH.
We thank God for his protection and guidance. Towards the end of December we did a night outreach. During a night Outreach, we usually meet the street kids ,talk to them, listen to them, pray with them and find the best means of resettling the ones who need to be resettled.
During this Outreach, we managed to meet many boys although we only could speak to few of them who were not under the influence of drugs. Many of the boys were high and could not settle in one place. Many boys use avaition fuel, marijuana,Alcohol,Cigarattes and kuba. When they are under the influence of any of those drugs. They are very hard to maintain and they can not listen.
There is a rapid increase in the number of the street children which means there is increased violence, mistreatment of the children by either their parents or families, death of parents among others.
During this night outreach, the boys were fighting each other using stones. That is they were throwing stones which is dangerous since it results into accidents.
The main challenge for the boys is the Police raids which are usually done in the night by the police.
we couldnt take so many pictures because of the dangers that were there that nightalthough we managed to take a few pictures.

We kindly ask you to say prayers for the street children and for resettlements to be successful that way the number of the street children can be reduced.
Thank you.

THE NGO CERTIFICATE.

WE ARE VERY THANKFUL FOR THE NGO CERTIFICATE.

Much thanks goes to everyone who spared his/her time to pray and trusted God for this.
