We are grateful that our reconciliation program is underway and it has kicked off on good grounds. So far those that have been driven back to their guardians; we have kalanda Steven who received a warm welcome from his Aunt. We first resettled Kalanda Steven in 2014 after finding his relatives in Entebbe, with various discussions with family; we managed to resettle Steven who among all the children we have resettled has stayed with his family for a full year.
However Steven again ran away from home again this past September and
this required us as a team to re-do our meeting up, calling of his
family, searching for him on streets and offering more counseling to
Kalanda Steven. We are very glad and happy that we worked together with
kalanda Steven’s doctors and counselor from one of the most recognized
and respected HIV/AIDS hospital in Entebbe and they suggested ideas
which are all for the best of Steven’s health and we are very happy that
we are all going to assist Steven in the best we all can.
On the other hand we kindly request to remember Steven in your prayers as he starts on the new line of medication. We feel the need to celebrate this achievement because all the mixed feelings between the boy and his family (Relatives) were all discussed at the transitional house, It was all joy and happiness to receive them as members of the family and we are all the family is willing to work with us including his doctors and we continue to pray for Kalanda Steven.

As MAA (Mercy Alive Africa) continues to meet immediate needs of the vulnerable children, we are also doing our best to change the perceptions of the community and more especially to those where these children come from. Congratulations to our boys Kalanda Steven who accepted to reconcile with their family. We are very proud of the decision you made, thus this is a good example to the rest of the other boys.
