Flavia and Richard yesterday visited Kitante Hill High School, Flavia and Abdul’s old school. It was a great experience to witness how old girls and boys connect with their former school’s administration in support for the children in poor communities.
Habiba an old girl of the school too, expressed a great interest on behalf of the school Administration to work with mercy alive Africa in giving care and support to street children in Kampala. Soon next week Habiba who is a member of the school administration will visit mercy alive Africa shelter in Nankulabye, have a slum visit to the areas of Kivulu and Makerere to witness the work already done by mercy alive Africa and other NGOs in the slums plus the current situation of the children on the streets of Kampala.
Afterwards the two parties will work on a plan which will connect the school to the community through mercy alive Africa activities, more of this plan will be discussed in our report and newsletters soon.
Habiba thank you so much for inviting mercy alive Africa volunteers visit Kitante High School and to discuss with you the organizations plans to work with such institutions. Your ideas were so positive and hope to work with you and the Kitante High School in future for the better of our nation Uganda.
